Mission Statement
Hilldale Public Schools’ mission is to provide educational opportunities that promote academic excellence in a safe and orderly environment.
Our History
Hilldale began in 1908 as a small elementary school, then located on a hill near the current Peak and Gulick streets. Over many years, as enrollment grew, new facilities and additional grades were added to the school. As a growing school with limited funds, much of the expansion was accomplished because of the commitment, donations, and physical labor of families with children in the district. In 1982, the first class graduated from Hilldale High School, with 83 graduates. Since that time, Hilldale has become known for strong values and successful students.

Commitment to Education & Career, called “Senior Class”, is required enrollment for seniors, with a daily focus on life after high school. A cooperative agreement with Indian Capital Technology Center is available for juniors and seniors to attend Career Technology courses. The Middle School offers traditional courses plus Vocal Music and Band, Pre-Algebra/Algebra I, Computer, Art, Family Consumer Sciences, Leadership Classes, and a Character Education focus for all students. Remediation classes are provided for students who have not passed the state reading or math test. A Robotics program has been started with Middle School students, competing in area and state competitions.
Both Middle School and High School have a FLEX schedule, which allows for students to receive additional help during a 30 minute period each day. For those students with good grades and behavior, they may be “Free Flexed” for a variety of activities, to reinforce their performance. This has proven to be instrumental in improving student skills and dramatically reducing those not passing classes.
Alternative Education (grades 6-12) and JOM services for students (grades 1-12) who are designated “At Risk” or in need of special assistance. |

Facilities | |||||
Hilldale Public Schools is located on twenty-seven square miles at two campuses in south Muskogee County. The Lower Elementary and Upper Elementary are in adjoining facilities on Peak Boulevard. The Middle School and High School are in an adjoining building on Smith Ferry Road. The district is currently in preparation for building new and remodeled facilities due to a $15 million bond issue, approved in October, 2017. Facilities include a secured entrance at the elementary, new classrooms and a gymnasium at the elementary, a new All Sports Facility at the MS-HS, remodeled baseball and softball facilities, and artificial turf on the football field. A $7.4 million bond project for facilities in the district has also been completed in 2014. New classrooms and restrooms were added at the Middle School, a new band room for Middle School-High School that meets FEMA guidelines as a safe room, a new kitchen and dining area for Middle School and High School, with the Middle School dining area serving as a safe room, and a new kitchen and dining facility for the Elementary that also provides an area for performances and serves as a safe room. In addition, nearly $1 million was recently spent to upgrade and repair all roofs in the district. Annually, facilities are prioritized for improvement and remodel. |

Technology | |||||
The Hilldale School District continuously strives to increase technology for all students. Most classrooms are equipped with either a Smart Board or a Smart TV. Computer labs are established throughout the district. The district has begun an initiative to provide Lower Elementary with mini-iPads class sets for student use and class sets of Google Chrome Books at Upper Elementary, Middle School and High School. Bring Your Own Device is a growing trend at the High School. A $480,000 grant from the City of Muskogee Foundation, a $96,000 grant from the Jimmie Johnson Foundation, and federal funds have provided the district with over 1,000 iPads or Chrome Books in recent years. Hilldale has a commitment to students having technology experience throughout their school career! |
