Early Opportunity Scholarship Deadline
The Nov. 1 Early Opportunity Scholarship Deadline is quickly approaching. Please remind and encourage them to apply and send us all their updated transcripts and test scores for premier OSU scholarship consideration, and award notification as early as December!
The FAFSA is Open
Remind your students the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) opened Oct. 1. Students should fill out the 2022-2023 FAFSA as soon as possible to maximize their scholarship potential. For more information on what to expect, view our Understanding College Financial Aid videos here.
Spring Orientation and Housing Opening
Orientation and enrollment dates for the spring 2021 semester are now open. Housing registration will begin Dec. 1. If you are working with students who plan to begin their freshman year at OSU in the spring semester, your students should visit their admissions portal to sign up. More information about orientation and enrollment can be found at firstyearsuccess.okstate.edu.
OSU Up Close
Our OSU Up Close event is your students’ chance to find out what college will really be like! They’ll hear about the academic opportunities and services available to them on campus, how to apply for admission, scholarships and financial aid, and they’ll get to experience campus through a tour. They can also meet some of our current students who will tell them about why they chose Oklahoma State University and their experiences on campus.
OSU Up Close
Monday, Oct. 25, 2021 | 8 a.m.
Registration and $20 fee per person is required. Up Close registration fee waivers are available for those who qualify.
Due to COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the bus transportation options as part of our Up Close event this year. We still plan to host Up Close on campus on October 25, but we’re asking guests to travel on their own to the event.
Discover Your Future
Students in 9th – 12th grade are invited to join the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology for one of our “Discover Your Future” events!
Students will participate in hands-on activities, hear from industry speakers and choose breakout sessions designed for them to explore the opportunities in engineering, architecture and technology.

Army ROTC Scholarships
Students interested in a National Army ROTC Scholarship can apply now. Army ROTC Scholarship applications can be completed by visiting goarmy.com/rotc.
Applications must be submitted no later than February 3, 2022.

Plant Biology Degree

The plant biology degree option in ecology & evolutionary biology is the place to find out how the planet ticks. Other plant biology degree options include pre-forensics, cell biology & molecular genetics, and pre-law.

Freshman Research Scholars
The Freshman Research Scholars Program provides first-year students in any major a hands-on learning experience.
Students selected for this program receive a $1000 scholarship and guidance throughout the fall semester to help them identify a faculty mentor in their chosen field. They will then join a research project with their faculty mentor for the fall and spring semesters.
In April, the student will participate in the Freshman Research Scholars Symposium, where they will share a poster about their research project. The application deadline for this program is February 1, 2022.
To apply, students should log in to their completed OSU application and locate a section titled “Consider Research,” which leads to the application, or they can access it here. Please contact schdev@okstate.edu with questions.
Language Placement Test
Students who enter OSU with at least one year of high school French, German, or Spanish may take a free placement test that can allow them to receive up to six credits of language courses for free. If they have taken American Sign Language, Arabic, Chinese, Greek, Japanese, Latin or Russian, they may also receive advanced standing credit.
