This scholarship is provided by BMW AG in recognition of its commitment to excellence in engineering. BMW is world famous for designing and building luxury, high-performance passenger cars and motorcycles. The company is also a leader in developing and manufacturing high technology, high performance internal combustion engines.
Applicants must demonstrate active participation in extracurricular science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) activities that take place outside the classroom (such as in clubs or in association with other organizations).
Student Eligibility Requirements:
A) U.S. resident.
B) Must be an Incoming Freshman
C) Minimum unweighted 3.75 grade point average
D) Pursue an engineering or related science degree through an ABET accredited program.
E) Provide two (2) Letters of Recommendation - one (1) that focuses on academics and one (1) that speaks to your involvement in extra-curricular activities or employment
F) Participation in a STEM-related extra-curricular activity /club or employment/shadowing that relates to your intended engineering major
Terms of Scholarship:
A) One scholarship will be awarded each year for $1,500 per year.
B) Scholarship may be renewed at $1,500 a year for three additional years (total award $6,000).
Selection and Announcement of Recipient:
A) Recipient will be selected by the SAE Scholarship Committee and notified by the end of June.
Payment of Scholarship Funds:
A) This scholarship will be paid into your account at your selected university in July/August.
B) It can be used for tuition or any other incidental school expenses.
